Privacy

The short version: no accounts, and no cookies of our own. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t identify you. If you ask for the free printable, Gumroad collects your email address to send it, and we send a few emails you can unsubscribe from. Gumroad’s checkout script loads on each page so you can buy here. The Story Page Maker keeps your stories on your own computer.

This website

The pages and images are served by Cloudflare Pages, which, like any web host, processes the technical details of each request (such as your IP address) to deliver the page. There are no accounts and no cookies of our own.

The site keeps a few small notes in your browser’s own storage on this device (not cookies, and never sent to us): whether you’ve closed the box that offers the free printable, so it doesn’t come back; for the current visit only, which ad, pin or email brought you here, so Gumroad can credit a sale to it. Clearing your browser’s data for this site removes them.

Each page loads Gumroad’s checkout script, so checkout can start from this page when you choose to buy. Gumroad’s privacy policy covers that script and its checkout pages.

Visit counts

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It doesn’t use cookies or other storage in your browser, and doesn’t identify you or follow you to other sites. It records things like the page, the site that linked here, the type of browser and device, and the country.

The free printable and our emails

The Shoebox Sort is delivered by Gumroad. To send it, Gumroad asks for your email address (and your name, if you give it) and shares it with us as the seller. No card is needed.

We use your address to send a short series of emails with ideas for your photos and family stories, and occasional news from Wren & Co. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and so does Gumroad’s receipt. You can also reply to any of our emails and ask us to delete your address. We don’t sell your address or give it to advertisers.

Buying the kit

Gumroad sells and delivers the kit as the merchant of record. Your payment details go to Gumroad, not to us. Gumroad shares your email address with the seller so we can help you and handle refunds. If a link to Gumroad carries campaign tags (the “utm” words in a web address), Gumroad records them so we can see which ads and emails lead to sales.

The Story Page Maker

The Story Page Maker runs entirely on your computer. Your words and photos are kept in your web browser’s storage on that computer, and in any backup files you choose to save. It is built so it can’t make network requests: nothing you add is uploaded, sent to us or shared with anyone.

To remove your work from a computer, start a new book in Book settings, or clear the browser’s data for the file.
